Aspen Updates & Emergency Cards

Please make sure your child’s emergency card and contact information are updated. We are still waiting for families to update this important information in Aspen. We must have this current information to ensure your child’s safety. If you are experiencing difficulties, please email aspenhelp@wpsk12.com and a network administrator will help. If you do not have a computer, please call Mrs. Buco and she will provide you with a hard copy.

Tardy and Absenteeism

If your child will be absent from school, please call the main office at 978-694-6070 and choose option 1. When you leave a message, please be sure to include the room number and the reason for your child’s absence. Remember, your child needs to be symptom-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication before they return to school after an illness.  Any child that arrives after 8 am, is considered tardy and must be signed in at the front office.

Change of Transportation

If you need to change your child’s dismissal transportation to a car rider, please write a letter to your child’s classroom teacher. Include the name of the person picking up your child in your letter. We will require photo identification upon pick up and the person picking up your child must be listed in Aspen.

Communication with Mrs. Hilliard, School Nurse

If you have any health-related questions or need to speak with Mrs. Hilliard regarding your child, please call the health office directly at 978-694-6026 or email her at laura.hilliard@wpsk12.com.

Picture Day – October 19, 2021

Bring your smile to school on Tuesday, October 19th! Online ordering is available at www.mylifetouch.com and the school ID is EVT3VR2GP. Paper order forms will be sent home with students as well. Paper orders will need to be returned on picture day.

Change of Season

As the days are getting shorter and the temperatures are beginning to get cooler, I would like to remind parents to have their children dress in layers and bring a sweatshirt or light jacket. Students go outside often for a snack, mask breaks, specialists, and recess. Please make sure to label their clothing so it doesn’t get lost.

Joanne Benton WEF Walk Fundraiser

The annual WEF Walk will be held on Thursday, October 28th. The walk reinforces the district’s belief that physical activity, healthy eating, proper nutrition, and physical education support academic success. Parents and family members are encouraged to sponsor their child in the walk. Money raised during this fundraiser supports many educational initiatives. Students are invited to wear Halloween costumes, favorite sports team shirts, or orange and black attire for the walk. A schedule and more information will be forthcoming.

October School Community Project

This month, students will be learning about our playground and recess expectations and how to form positive friendships with peers. They’ll also learn important problem-solving skills. Students will participate in classroom activities and create a recess safety poster to display in their classroom.
