Aspen Updates & Emergency Cards

Please make sure your child’s emergency card and contact information are updated. We are still waiting for families to update this important information in Aspen. We must have this current information to ensure your child’s safety. If you are experiencing difficulties, please email [email protected] and a network administrator will help. If you do not have a computer, please call Mrs. Atwater and she will provide you with a hard copy.

Absenteeism

If your child will be absent from school, please call the main office at 978-694-6070 and choose option 1. When you leave a message, please be sure to include the room number and the reason for your child’s absence. Remember, your child needs to be symptom-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication before they return to school after an illness.

Change of Transportation

If you need to change your child’s dismissal transportation to a car rider, please write a letter to your child’s classroom teacher. Include the name of the person picking up your child in your letter. We will require photo identification upon pick up and the person picking up your child must be listed in Aspen.

Communication with Mrs. McCabe, School Nurse

Please be sure to provide an updated physical and immunization record if you have not provided one already. If you have any health-related questions or need to speak with Mrs. McCabe regarding your child, please call the health office directly at 978-694-6026 or email her at [email protected].

A Message from Mrs. Henley, School Counselor

Welcome, everyone! I am excited to start this year with both new and returning students and families. I have had a chance to visit each classroom and introduce myself to the students. We’ve started this year welcoming each other and practicing kindness with our friends and staff. I’m looking forward to building these skills throughout the year and learning new strategies to name and manage big feelings. I’m excited to get to know each student and share in their success throughout the year. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected] or (978) 694-6070.

Change of Season

As the days are getting shorter and the temperatures are beginning to get cooler, I would like to remind parents to have their children dress in layers and bring a sweatshirt or light jacket. Please make sure to label their clothing so it doesn’t get lost.

Lyman Orchards Fundraiser

Please help the Boutwell PAC by participating in our annual pie fundraiser. This fundraiser helps fund the Boutwell T-shirts, folders, and various enrichment programs. Families can register to sell online by visiting your.mcmfundraising.com/signup/pbqq. All orders must be in by October 18th and the pick-up date is November 22nd. Information was shared via email and sent home with students.

Joanne Benton WEF Walk Fundraiser

The annual WEF Walk will be held on Monday, October 31st. The walk reinforces the district’s belief that physical activity, healthy eating, proper nutrition, and physical education support academic success. Parents and family members are encouraged to sponsor their children in the walk. Money raised during this fundraiser supports many educational initiatives. Students are invited to wear Halloween costumes, favorite sports team shirts, or orange and black attire for the walk. Additional information and schedule will be forthcoming.

October School Community Project

This month, students will be learning about our playground and recess expectations and how to form positive friendships with peers. They’ll also learn important problem-solving skills. Students will participate in classroom activities and create a recess safety poster to display in their classroom.
