As we count down the last few weeks of this school year, don’t forget about our fun spirit days! We encourage all our students to participate and have fun! Preschool students will participate on Thursdays and kindergarten students will participate on Fridays!

  • June 2nd & 3rd – Teddy Bear Picnic
  • June 9th & 10th – Wilmington Pride Day
  • June 16th & 17th– Island Day

Field Day – June 7th

This year our annual Field Day is Tuesday, June 7th (rain date 6/14). We are looking forward to having a fun-filled day outside with our friends. If you returned the field day volunteer slip, Mrs. Bishop is expecting you to help on this date. Volunteers, please meet at the front office at 7:45 am on field day. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Bishop at [email protected] or 978-694-6070. Thank you!

Also, on this day, our PM preschool students will join our AM session from 8:00 – 10:30 am.

Lost and Found

For the remainder of the year, our Lost & Found bin will be placed outside by the front entrance. If your child has lost an article of clothing or a personal item, please check inside the box. All items remaining after June 17th will be donated. Thank you!

Next Year's Teacher Assignment

As a reminder, next year’s teacher will not be listed on the final report card.  This practice was adopted a few years ago. In early August, parents and guardians will receive an email with instructions on how to access classroom teacher assignments in Aspen.

Thank You from Mrs. Walsh

It’s hard to believe the end of the school year has arrived so quickly! The Boutwell School community is truly unique because of the collaboration between our students, families, teachers, staff, and administration. I want to thank you for your continued support and generosity shown throughout this past school year. Together, we have had many successes and our students have grown into thoughtful learners full of curiosity, determination, and motivation. Each day, they came to school with a story to share (don’t worry, we didn’t believe all of them J), a joke to make us laugh, a thumbs up to keep us going, or a sparkle in their eye to keep us on our toes!

I would like to thank the Boutwell staff and recognize their hard work, dedication, and willingness to go above and beyond for our students. They have taught our students many important skills that will serve them well for years to come. I’d like to recognize Mrs. Hilliard, school nurse, and Mrs. Jeannette, educational assistant, who will retire from the Wilmington Public Schools at the end of this school year. Together, they have a combined total of 38 years of dedicated service to the children of Wilmington. Please join me in wishing them a happy and healthy retirement!

Finally, I wish our kindergarten students and families moving onto first grade the best of luck next year at the Shawsheen School! Don’t forget to come back and visit us! For our preschool students and families, I look forward to seeing you again in September.

Wishing you a fun-filled summer with family and friends!

With gratitude,

Mrs. Walsh
