Thank you

We would like to thank the many sponsors who donated to the Joanne Benton WEF walk. The students looked very festive in their costumes and had a lot of fun during the parade. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!

Little Free Library

Our Little Free Library will be ready after Thanksgiving break! The purpose of the library is to promote literacy and to allow students to add books to their collections.  We know having access to a variety of books helps improve reading skills while promoting a love of reading.  Children, like adults, develop a favorite author, subject, or genre.  This is a great opportunity to explore the many types of literature available.  The idea of a Little Free Library is to leave a book, take a book and read it.  Students should bring in a book that they have enjoyed but no longer want.  They will then select another book to take home.  The students can keep the selected book or they can read it and bring it back for another book.  The books that the students bring must be in excellent condition and age/grade appropriate.  Favorite family read-a-loud, non-fiction books, poetry, and easy readers are all excellent choices to share.

The library will be a rolling cart located in the lobby. Your children can visit the library any day during snack or indoor recess.  Beginning the week of November 29th, the library will be outside the front door every Wednesday from 7:30 am – 2:00 pm for families to use - weather permitting!

November Community Project

This month students will be collecting food for the Wilmington Food Pantry. Please send in non-perishable items to be distributed to families in need. Students may bring their donations and place them in the box located in the front office.

Physical Education Reminder

To ensure your child’s safety, we ask that your child wear sneakers on the days he/she has gym class. Thank you! J

Wilmington Educational Foundation (WEF) Clothing Bin

If you have gently used clothing, shoes, stuffed animals, etc. you would like to donate, place them in the WEF clothing bin located at the front driveway of our school. All donations must be in a plastic bag. Please do not donate toys or leave donations outside the bin on the ground. For every ton, the WEF will receive $100 that will support educational opportunities for all our students.
